SHOWER OR BATHE BEFORE YOU SHAVE.
The best time to shave is right after a hot shower! Be sure to wash your face and neck with warm water and mild soap to help remove natural oils and perspiration, as well as making hair softer and easier to cut. |
 |
APPLY PLENTY OF SHAVE GEL or CREAM.
Although water is an essential softening agent, water absorbed by hair quickly evaporates. So we recommend using Gillette Mach3 Shave Prep for the best possible shave. They are designed to provide a protective blanket that prevents the evaporation of water and keeps beard hair soft during the shave. They also lessen friction between blade and skin. |
 |
USE A LIGHT TOUCH.
Use light, gentle strokes when shaving. And make sure your razor is kept clean and in good condition by rinsing the blade often during the shaving. As for direction, shaving in the direction of whisker growth makes your shave more comfortable; however, shaving against whisker growth gives you a close-feeling shave. Shaving in both directions is not recommended. Wondering about which razor to use? We think you’ll agree the Gillette Mach3 Manual or Mach3 Power is the best on the market! |

LEAVE HARD-TO-SHAVE SPOTS FOR LAST.
Shave cheeks, sides of face and neck first. The toughest whiskers grow on the chin and around the lips. Shave these areas last, as more time soaking in the shave preparation will soften them further. |
 |
RINSE AFTER THE SHAVE.
After shaving, rinse the face and neck with water and pat dry. At the end of every shave, rinse the blade thoroughly and shake off excess water before storing. Finally use an after shave preparation on your skin such as Gillette Mac3 After Shave Balm or Gel. |
